What Cloud Service Works Well for SeAT & Pathfinder?

My recommendation is Digital Ocean (what you are seeing is not hosted on Digital Ocean). I have a working instace of SeAT 5.0 (Bare install) and Pathfinder (Docker).

My pick was a droplet with

  • 2 vCPU
  • 4GB RAM
  • 80GB SSD
  • Ubuntu 24.04 (LTS) x64

This give you a virtual machine to host a small corp of SeAT and Pathfinder.

The benefit I decided to choose from is that

  • Simpler offering than AWS, GC, and others.
  • $200 or 60 day free trial.

Simpler Offering

To be very honest with you, I am overwhelmed by AWS and GC offerings and their multiple year commitment price plans. Web services for a weekend fun don’t need all those features at all. What you need is a virtual machine with a root privilege.

Free Trial

This is something both AWS and GC offer as well. So nothing special about it, but it is important to have there free trial period as you have to figure out how to set it up on an environment where you don’t know much about it. Even, I was running SeAT on Gentoo, I wasn’t able to make both SeAT and Pathfinder up and running properly in a few days. It took me two weeks to figure out. So you can test out whether you are able to set up services and comfortable to maintain.

Promotion Code

Here is a referral link. You get $200 and I get $25 worth of credit. I think you go to their web site without clicking the referral button below, they still offer the free $200 or 60 day trial
