Pathfinder PHP8

I am rolling out an instance of pathfinder php8 version on my server.

I didn’t rewrite the code at all. I used Grok Build to upgrade the entire pathfinder, pathfinder_esi, and pathfinder_websocket to php8. So I can run them along with Seat application on my bare metal environment (not a docker solution).

This version is

  • runs on php8.2 (on any php8, I think)
  • works with latest mysql and redis servers.
  • works with the latest ESI/SSO.
  • re-enabled zkill live update using an independent app (pathfinder_zkill).

AI works great with this type of upgrade (php7 to php8). My part is testing to make sure that Grok Build doesn’t break the integrity of the set of the application.

I don’t think this is the first choice of eveonline mapping tool when there are more reliable and modern mapping tools available.

However, if you are running the docker version of pathfinder and need to upgrade it onto php8 environment like I prefer to have both seat 5 and pathfinder on the bare metal.

I do need someone to help debug the tool. Not sure there are people left to use this. Once, I completed the majority of debugging, I will mark these github public.
